How to Convert Your E.ON Energy Bill to Excel

5 minute read · UK Energy Bills · Last updated September 2026

E.ON and E.ON Next are two of the UK's major energy suppliers, serving millions of households across the country. Whether you're on a fixed tariff or the standard variable rate, your monthly bill arrives as a PDF - useful for record keeping, but not so useful when you want to analyse your energy spending in a spreadsheet or export the figures to an accounting tool.

This guide walks you through converting your E.ON or E.ON Next PDF bill into a clean Excel file in a matter of seconds.

What data is on an E.ON energy bill?

A typical E.ON or E.ON Next bill contains:

Does it work with E.ON Next as well as E.ON?

Yes. E.ON Next is E.ON's newer digital-first brand, but the bill format is similar. BillConverter handles both without any issues - just upload the PDF as normal regardless of which brand your account is under.

What does the Excel output contain?

The Excel file has two sheets. Sheet 1 gives you an account summary - your details, balance, payments made, and the total due. Sheet 2 gives you your billing periods in a table format - one row per charge period with all the detail including usage, rates, meter readings, and VAT. This is particularly useful for landlords and accountants who want to build up a historical record of energy costs across multiple bills.

Can I convert multiple E.ON bills at once?

Currently BillConverter processes one bill at a time. If you need to convert several months of bills, you can upload them one by one and then combine the Billing Periods rows in Excel to build a full history. A batch upload feature is on our roadmap.

Is it free?

Your first two conversions per month are completely free - no account required. Beyond that, you can top up with 20 conversions for £1.99 (around 10p per bill), or subscribe for unlimited conversions at £4.99 per month.

Is my bill data kept private?

Yes. Your uploaded PDF is processed in memory and discarded immediately once your Excel file has been generated. Nothing is saved to our servers. Read more at billconverter.co.uk/privacy.
